“Busy Times” is a series of illustrations which explores the contrast between our increasingly demanding society and our abilities to cope with it.
It’s about how every minute is counted and how every moment must be spend wisely. When we listened to audiobooks, work and eat at the same time. When we go to 5.30 am yoga classes and 9 pm runs on the same day.
Obviously there were mental and physical limits to coping with it. These illustrations describe the the humiliating and sad moments when exceeding these limits becomes a part of our everyday lives.
But from the brighter side these illustrations are also about the poetics of human body. What a beautiful forms and strange poses it takes without our permission and acknowledgement while we are asleep - even if only for a few seconds.
